What hit your home?

Wind, hail, and water leave different clues.

These are real Ultimate Improvements field photos. They help homeowners understand what an inspection may document without promising a cause, coverage decision, or claim outcome.

Wind damage

Lifted, creased, or missing shingles

Wind damage often begins at roof edges, ridges, flashing, and previously vulnerable areas—even when the roof still looks mostly intact from the ground.

  • Lifted or folded shingle tabs
  • Missing shingles or exposed underlayment
  • Loose flashing, fascia, or siding

Hail damage

Impact marks and displaced granules

Hail effects can be difficult to confirm from the ground. A roof inspection should distinguish possible impacts from normal aging, foot traffic, and manufacturing conditions.

  • Dark or soft impact areas
  • Granules collecting near downspouts
  • Dents in vents, gutters, or other soft metals

Water intrusion

Active leaks and hidden moisture paths

The interior stain is not always directly below the entry point. Roof coverings, flashing, decking, insulation, drywall, and trim may all need to be checked in the right order.

  • New ceiling or wall stains
  • Wet attic materials or decking
  • Water entering around roof penetrations

What happens next

A practical five-step storm response.

Short, practical steps—from stopping additional damage to reviewing the finished restoration.

  1. White temporary roof protection installed over exposed shingle areas
    01

    Emergency protection

    Protect exposed areas

If shingles are missing or water is entering, temporary protection can help limit additional exposure until the permanent scope is ready.

  2. Roof-wide hail inspection with chalk circles and test squares
    02

    Field documentation

    Record the visible conditions

Roof-wide photos, chalk locations, close-ups, and test squares create a clear record of what was visible on the inspection date.

  3. Roof inspection with chalk marks identifying areas for closer evaluation
    03

    Full-property review

    Inspect the roof and exterior

Check shingles, flashing, vents, siding, gutters, fascia, soffit, and accessible interior areas instead of focusing on one isolated symptom.

  4. 04

    Clear recommendations

    Review the repair options

We explain the observed conditions and organize the proposed construction work into understandable line items. Your insurer decides coverage under the policy.

  5. Completed charcoal roof and white exterior restoration by Ultimate Improvements
    05

    Completed restoration

    Restore and verify

Complete the authorized work, protect the property, clean the site, and review the finished roof and connected exterior work.

Do not wait for a ceiling stain

Storm damage is not always obvious from the ground.

Call for an inspection after significant wind or hail, especially if neighboring properties are being repaired.

  • Missing, lifted, or creased shingles
  • Granule loss or possible impact marks
  • Dented gutters, vents, or soft metals
  • Loose siding, fascia, or trim
  • Attic moisture or new ceiling stains
  • Debris impact or fallen branches

What we can help with

Ultimate Improvements can visually inspect accessible areas and explain what we observe. When you authorize additional documentation or construction services, we can photograph, measure, estimate, meet an adjuster, and complete approved repair or replacement work.

B

What your insurer decides

Your insurance company interprets the policy, determines coverage, sets the covered scope, applies depreciation, and issues payments under the policy terms.

C

Your deductible still matters

Homeowners are generally responsible for the policy deductible and work that is not covered. We will not promise claim approval, a particular payout, or free work.

Storm questions

Clear answers before work begins.

Should I call a roofer before my insurance company?

If water is entering or the property is unsafe, address emergency protection first. For a non-emergency, a contractor inspection can help you understand visible conditions before deciding whether to report a claim. Your policy may include notice requirements.

Will Ultimate Improvements negotiate my claim?

No. We act as the construction contractor. We can explain visible conditions and our construction scope, but coverage interpretation and public-adjusting services are separate licensed roles.

Can you meet the adjuster?

Yes, scheduling permitting. We can point out observed damage and answer construction questions during the site visit.

What if only part of the project is covered?

We will separate the proposed construction work as clearly as practical so you understand approved work, optional upgrades, and homeowner-paid items before authorizing them.
